Are you dealing with gastritis symptoms and want to stop taking proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or other LPR reflux treatments?

Or you’ve recently done an endoscopy and were diagnosed with chronic gastritis, autoimmune gastritis, Helicobacter pylori infection or even Zollinger-Ellison syndrome?

Then this post is written for you.

Above all, you’ll learn that there is a gastritis cure and you do not have to suffer for life.

Because simple diet changes can address your chronic gastritis symptoms even if you’ve been told otherwise by your doctor.

I’ve seen Gut Feelers recover from advanced autoimmune gastritis and even the beginning of stomach cancer with eating the right foods and making simple lifestyle changes.

It’s possible, dear Gut Feeler friend. Don’t give up!

Do You Have Any Of These 3 Common Gastritis Symptoms?

Before I share with the hidden causes for gastritis and how to address them, let's check if you are dealing with any of the follow gastritis symptoms.

1. Abdominal pain

One of my clients described this common gastritis symptom as "having broken glass in my stomach".

Does this feel familiar to you?

2. Nausea and anxiety

Do you wake up in the morning with an inner nervousness and the feeling that something is fundamentally "wrong" with you or your body?

Or you have lost your appetite and even weight because no matter what you eat you feel nauseous afterwards?

For example, there is a direct relationship between your stomach inflammation and how you feel.

"Anxiety disorders (27.0% vs. 15.3%) and affective disorders (20.1% vs. 11.5%) were significantly more common among adults with a diagnosis of gastritis."

3. Acid reflux, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) & heartburn

Are you having trouble sleeping at night or wake up with a sore throat and bad breath in the morning?

As a results of the imbalance of healthy stomach acid and bacterial overgrowth (e.g. H. pylori) you may experience acid coming up your throat.

The 3 Major Root Causes For Chronic Gastritis

If you want to cure gastritis symptoms like LPR reflux, GERD, nausea and anxiety naturally, you need to address what causes gastritis.

Before you read any further share with me what your doctor has told you as a reason for your gastritis symptoms. Just leave a few words in the comments below.

1. Low stomach acid and pathogenic bacteria

Just yesterday a new client told me in our Intake Session that she was told by her doctor the following...

(This was quiet upsetting to hear)

"My GP told me I have to take acid blockers because my stomach acid causes the burning pain and reflux at night. If I don't take the medicine, I am at risk of developing stomach cancer in the future."

Here's my response to this misunderstanding of how your stomach works:

Acid blockers only make the situation worse because...

It is NOT your stomach acid that is causing acid reflux, ulcers or even stomach cancer.

I explain in detail how damaging PPIs, acid blockers and antibiotics are for your stomach and why, here

One of the major root causes for gastritis symptoms is that you do not have ENOUGH stomach acid.

The acid that is causing symptoms is mainly produced by pathogens like Helicobacter bacteria.

2. Medication and toxins

Did you know that pain medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen can cause stomach inflammation and gastritis symptoms?

Furthermore, toxins (toxic heavy metals, alcohol, environmental toxins, pesticides etc.), GMO foods and toxic food additives like artificial flavours irritate the lining of your stomach and cause inflammation.

3. Stress

Stress-induced gastritis is more common than most doctors tell their patients.

Above all, how you feel directly effects your digestion. Because if your nervous system is in a constant state of "flight or flight" there is no time to relax and slow down.

In order for your stomach and gut to digest food your parasympathetic nervous system needs to be active. Therefore, only if you feel safe and at ease, will your body put energy into e.g. producing healthy stomach acid, secreting digestive enzymes and stimulate bile production.

Gastritis Diet - What To Do To Cure Gastritis Symptoms Forever

There’s a lot you can do to heal gastritis symptoms with the right food choices

Here are my top three liquid healing routines I recommend you to make part of your treatment for curing chronic gastritis naturally.

1. Morning Healing Juice

Drink 16 ounces (that's 400ml) of pure celery juice after waking up.

It is important to drink the juice fresh and do NOT dilute it with water or mix with other ingredients.

If you like to learn more about celery juice and its wonderful healing benefits, watch this playlist. .

Pure, fresh (best organic) celery juice has the following healing effect for gastritis symptoms:

  • Very soothing for your stomach
  • Kills pathogenic bacteria, e.g. Helicobacter pylori
  • Rebuilds your good stomach acid (to fight of pathogens & digest better) and lowers inflammation and pain in your stomach

In short, drink celery juice every morning for at least 7 days in a row to see first results of healing your stomach.

2. Coconut water

In addition, include 2 cups of pure coconut water into your gastritis treatment protocol.

Coconut water detoxifies your stomach from e.g. medication residues and soothes the inflamed stomach lining.

If you are dealing with nausea and anxiety, coconut water will become your best healing ally. You can consume more than 2 cups per day without problems.

3. Aloe vera juice before bed

Lastly, bring in aloe vera juice or fresh aloe vera gel to heal gastritis symptoms naturally and long-term.

Aloe vera is know to soothe inflammation and riot in your stomach. And furthermore, the inner leaf on this plant can heals scar tissue from e.g. medication damage or pathogen-caused ulcers.

There are two options how to use aloe vera:

You can either the gel of a fresh aloe vera leaf and scoop out two tablespoons to blend with water or juice.

Or, if fresh aloe is not available, mix 100ml aloe juice with water and drink 30 minutes before going to bed.

In addition, I recommend to include 1-2 capsules of Aloe Fuzion supplement to speed up the recovery of your stomach and relief pain.

  1. Hi Peggy

    Very similar story.

I was told I had mild gastritis and advised a short course of ppi. Bad symptoms of bloating burning constipation

After this I had the most terrible anxiety. I couldnt
sit still and was suicidal…but worse was to come

A GI specialist then advised me that he found no inflammation in biopsy and told me to stop ppi because mild gastritis was not cause of
    symptoms

He gave me an ante depressant which made me want to kill myself all day every day. Shaking and sweating for 3 days to the point I ended up in mental hospital

Last Dr told told me I had IBS.

  2. Hi Peggy, I suffered from severe food poisoning in feb 2019 and was admitted in hospital. When I was discharged from hospital after 3 days. I started to feel stomach cramps and Diarrhoea. Doctor told me its post infectious diarrhea. I started taking homeopathy treatment. Then in march 2020 i started to feel irritation in my throat. My doctor then told me its acid reflux and gave me ppi. I took ppi for a month and felt ok. It kept on coming on and off. But in june 2021 I suffered from extreme stomach ache, got endoscopy done and doctor said its gastritis with erosions. From july till december 2020 i was on ppi which made me feel better.
Then my doctor stopped ppi and put me on lower dose of formatidine 40 mg which is a h2 blocker. I dont jave stomach ache anymore but I feel irritation in my throat most of the time and occasionally feel heartburn. I really want to come out of this. This whole 3 years my life has become hell. Please help me. I want to cure myself.

      1. Hi Peggy- I am ready for one week challenge. I just have one question. I have IBS- Diarrhea. Can I drink Celery of Cabbage juice in such a condition? Won't it cause Diarrhea?
Also celery is not available in the place where I live. is there any alternative?

  3. Hi Peggy,

I thought you advised to drink lemon water at night if I use lemon instead of aloe will that irritate my acid reflux?

    1. Lemon water can be a bit too much for some gastritis sufferers. Aloe vera has the added benefit of healing scars and ulcers in your stomach lining.

  4. I was diagnosed with gallstones and told that this is causing my stomach pain and acid reflux.

I was told that I have to remove my gallbladder in order to get relief.

    Please help ?

  5. Hi
Thank you for all the information. I have been trying to get rid of h.pylori for over 1 year. Finally i decided to take the antibiotic treatment 2 types plus a proton pump inhibitor for 2 weeks. Left me tired & heavy and with a furry grey tongue. Once the tretment stopped i felt a bit better then symptoms started again. I burp a lot & sometimes i feel that the food is stuck to my chest. I go from not eating much to snacking on and off. Some days i am not hungry other days i m hungry sometimes i am also just scared to eat. I am vegan and avoid gluten also. I eat soups and steamed veggies. Sometimes a bit of raw salad and some nuts. Just started juicing celery in the morning. I am also juicing raw potatoes as it seems to help for gastritis. Any recommendations would love to hear
